Whether you are interested in recreational shooting, competition, hunting, gun collecting, historical reenactment, personal safety, or home protection -- start with the basics.

The class covers: - Safe firearm handling - Georgia law and codes - Types of firearms (primarily handguns) their parts and operation - Ammunition, loading and unloading - Shooting fundamentals to include how to grip the handgun, sighting, and firing - Generally recognized range instructions and commands - Other range safety - Corrective shooting practices - Overview of gun cleaning - Suggestions on how to select the handgun right for you - Range time Our basic gun safety and familiarization class is taught by one of our instructors and primarily covers handguns. The class includes three hours of classroom instruction followed immediately by one hour of hands-on experience on the range using our guns. HOME DEFENSE CLASS Costs $65 we will provide class rental gun, target, eye & ear protection. Ammo is an additional cost. Our Home Defense Class is designed to take the beginner to average pistol shooter to the next level. In order to fully realize the benefits of intermediate instruction, each student must either have a working knowledge of pistols or have recently attended our Gun Safety & Familiarization Class. The class covers: - Proper presentation and presentation from concealment - Emergency and tactical reload - How to handle the three most common malfunctions - Close sighting techniques - One handed firing - Multiple targets - Flashlight techniques - Alternate firing positions - Vertical and horizontal barriers, basic fire on the move Wild West Traders’ Home Defense Class is taught by one of our instructors and includes one hour of classroom instruction followed immediately by two hours of hands-on experience on the range using your own gun or one of ours. Required equipment/items

• Semi-auto or revolver
• Two magazines/speed loaders
• 50 rounds of ammunition which can be purchased at the range
• Flashlight or weapon mounted light
• Holster
• The student MUST have completed a Handgun safety course before attending this class

The Class will cover all aspects of concealed carry to include holster and weapon selection.  All local, state, and federal laws regarding concealed carry and use of force. Students will also be instructed on liability issues regarding the use of force. The class will also cover the following topics.

• Emergency /tactical magazine changes
• Use of cover and concealment
• Low light shooting techniques
• Drawing from the holster
• Weapon retention

Costs $50 per hour + 100 to 200 rounds ammunition and targets; we will provide class rental gun, eye & ear protection if you do not already have these items. Wild West Traders’ private lessons are taught by one of our instructors. Prospective students will be introduced to an instructor based on what the student wants to accomplish. Classroom instruction and range time are determined by the student and instructor.
